Today, Berg Construction, Inc. thrives due to experienced and dedicated personnel. The company's size, 30 employees, is large enough to allow for specialization yet is small enough for Cheryl to be involved in all matters, Cheryl Bergs' insight and ability have attracted loyal, capable employees.
Cheryl Berg is President of Berg Construction, Inc. and oversees each project from its inception to its final completion. In real estate development projects, Cheryl is personally involved from the negotiation and purchase of real estate for each project, through the planning, zoning, platting, building design, site layout, permitting, and final construction and occupancy process. In general contracting and excavation projects, Cheryl oversees the planning and estimating procedures, selection of subcontractors, completion and follow through of the work required to complete the project In addition, Cheryl manages the real estate development division. Cheryl oversees the building design, selection, and usage of property acquired by the division. Cheryl manages all the Berg properties including tenant negotiations, leases and common area management.
Chuck Dykstra Sr., Vice President of the Construction Division, joined Berg Construction, Inc. in June 1998. Chuck draws on over 29 years of construction experience to provide project oversight from design to completion as well as accurate and complete cost figures for the wide range of projects. Prior to joining Berg Construction, Inc., Chuck was employed by the City of Muskego as the Director of Building Inspection and served as President of the Building Inspectors Association of Southeast Wisconsin. Chuck continues to maintain his State of Wisconsin inspector's credentials, to help him identify and avoid code related problems in a pro-active manner. Prior to his time with the City of Muskego, Chuck lived and worked in Texas for 12 years. During that time, he was active in several real estate development projects; supervised or managed commercial construction projects to $4 million; and single family homes to $1.7 million.
Scott Nielson, Vice President of the Excavation and Concrete Divisions, Civil Engineer, joined Berg Construction, Inc. in November 1997. Scott bids excavation, grading and concrete projects, resources materials, investigates pre-construction sites and works with our foremen to make sure jobs are completed per plans and specifications. Prior to joining Berg Construction, Inc., Scott was the Project Manager in Site Development and Cost Estimating for Western Contractors, Inc. and for Pyramid Excavation in Rockford, IL. Scott received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (Project Management and Geo-Technical Analysis) from UW-Platteville and is E.I.T. certified. In addition, he worked for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation performing project layout and inspections, and for the City of Appleton inspecting, surveying and staking. Scott is a certified SCUBA diver and in his free time, enjoys snow and water skiing, snowmobiling, boating and spending time outdoors.
